I paid a deposit to a wedding planner. Three months later I had one incomplete catering quote, a number that ignored the budget I’d given them, and an assistant I’d never met running my wedding.

I genuinely have no idea what a wedding should cost. Is that a problem?

No — it’s the normal starting point. Tell Marquise where you’re getting married and roughly how many people are coming, and it builds a budget from what vendors in that region actually charge, broken down by category. You’ll see what a realistic number looks like before you commit to one, and you can move any line up or down from there.

Does it replace a wedding planner completely?

For most couples, yes. The research, outreach, negotiation, contracts, budget and timeline are the bulk of what a planner charges for. The one thing software can’t do is stand in the room on the day — so Marquise builds you a complete run of show (minute-by-minute timeline, room setup, vendor arrival times and payment status) to hand to whoever’s coordinating: your venue, a day-of coordinator, or a trusted friend.

What if a vendor won’t negotiate?

Plenty won’t, especially in peak season. Marquise reads the reply, tells you where the room actually is — dates, package structure, extras thrown in rather than a lower headline price — and moves on to the next name on your shortlist if there’s nothing there.

Does it work for a destination wedding?

That’s what it was built for. It handles vendors in other countries, other languages and other time zones — with multi-currency budgeting — which is exactly where planning yourself normally falls apart.

Can I pay in installments?

Yes. Marquise is a one-time fee per wedding, and at checkout you can choose Klarna to spread it over time instead of paying all at once.

What happens after the wedding?

Your workspace stays open through your wedding date plus a 60-day grace window, so you can settle final payments and download every contract, quote and email thread. Then it’s archived and yours to keep.
